How Nottingham Forest Have Lined-up Recently
Forest began their third consecutive season in the top flight with a visit from Bournemouth, lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, the same set-up they employed for their final preseason match against Olympiacos which they won 4-3.

Against the Cherries, they began with Matz Sels in goal with a back four of Ola Aina, Murillo, Willy Boly and Nico Williams. Forest fans would have been eager to see summer signing Nikola Milenkovic start at the heart of defence but the Serbian did not feature, with match fitness the presumed reason.
Ibrahima Sangare and Danilo made up the deep midfield two, while the attack consisted of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Morgan Gibbs-White, Anthony Elanga and Chris Wood, arguably Forest’s strongest possible front four.
Nottingham Forest’s Recent Form and Tactics
Forest and Bournemouth ended their opening match with a share of the spoils, the match ending 1-1. Wood opened the scoring for Nuno Espirito’s side midway through the first half, as they held out until four minutes from time when Antoine Semenyo bundled in Bournemouth’s equaliser from close range.

In an open, fast-paced match, Forest looked impressive on the counter-attack with their pace out wide and created plenty of chances. As expected, with the opening day of the season comes that lack of a clinical edge as players look to get back into the flow of competitive football.
Nottingham Forest Injuries to Consider
After having an injury-free squad for last weekend’s match, Forest suffered their first wound of the season 15 minutes into the game against the Cherries. Midfielder Danilo jumped for a header with an opposition player, landing awkwardly before being taken off on a stretcher after a lengthy stoppage. After the game, it was revealed he had broken his ankle which will now leave him out of action for six to eight weeks.
