Liverpool are picking up their pace in the 2024 summer transfer window after a slow start in the initial stages. After announcing the signing of Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, the Reds seem to be making a steal of a signing in Juventus man Federico Chiesa.

How Much Will Liverpool Pay Juventus For Chiesa?
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Reds have finalized an agreement with the Italian side for the signing of the experienced winger. He states that they’ll be paying the Serie A heavyweights an initial £10.9 million fee along with more in potential add-ons.

Romano also adds that Chiesa has fully agreed on a four-year contract with Arne Slot’s side and that he accepted their proposal immediately after receiving it. The journalist insists that the deal is done (giving his famous ‘Here We Go’ line on X) and that the winger will be flying to Merseyside soon to complete his medical tests before signing all the necessary contracts to complete the transfer move. The Reds appear to have worked really fast in securing the move to sign Chiesa after having been linked with him on Monday (August 26).
Where Does Chiesa Fit In At Liverpool?
The 26-year-old winger has all but confirmed his move to Anfield even before an official announcement, as he told reporters: “I’m very happy, I can’t wait to become new Liverpool player. Me and my family, we’re so happy really. Let me say thanks to Juventus and the fans, they have been always special with me. Now it’s time for Liverpool, I’m so happy. I can’t wait!”
Chiesa’s signing may surprise Liverpool fans because the Reds were not really linked to any other winger or forward throughout the summer window. Slot has a number of quality forwards at his disposal in his current squad, with Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz having the wide areas locked down as the regular starters.

The Italian winger is being brought in to add more depth to the Reds’ frontline, ensuring the quality doesn’t drop when Diaz or Salah aren’t available. Chiesa can play across both the wide areas and can slot into a number nine role if needed. He possesses a creative threat and has that eye for the goal, while also being rapid on counter-attacks, making him ideal for the Liverpool system. The 26-year-old, who was hailed for his “amazing” pace by ex-teammate Giorgio Chiellini last year, comes with a lot of experience, having played a key role in helping Italy win Euro 2020 and having 90 goal contributions (47 goals, 43 assists) in 235 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina and Juventus.
