Newcastle continue their Premier League campaign as they host Tottenham on Sunday, September 1 at 1:30 PM BST. Both sides are unbeaten, coming into this crucial fixture. Here is our Newcastle predicted lineup as the Magpies look for a positive result before the international break.
Newcastle Predicted Lineup as They Host Tottenham
How Newcastle Have Lined Up Recently
Newcastle stuck with their 4-3-3 formation for their EFL Cup win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday. Whilst players were rested for the cup match, star players including Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes are expected to return.
Lewis Hall and Lloyd Kelly have shared left-back duties so far this season and Eddie Howe faces a selection headache for this position. Emil Krafth will hope to start his third consecutive match as Fabian Schar remains suspended.

Sandro Tonali also returned to the starting lineup following his suspension and was praised by his manager for “a great return.” Howe might opt for the Italian alongside Guimaraes and Joelinton but might struggle for fitness after such a long period on the sidelines.
Newcastle’s Recent Form and Tactics
Newcastle remain unbeaten but needed penalties to get past Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup on Wednesday. They drew 1-1 in regulation time after Joe Willock put the Magpies ahead within 20 seconds.
This result follows a home victory over Southampton and a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth. The Magpies are traditionally strong at home, especially against Tottenham. They have won their last two home matches against Spurs by an aggregate score of 10-1.

The Magpies made five changes to their starting lineup against Forest but should revert to a side similar to that who faced Bournemouth. Tonali could start a second consecutive game should he be fit. The Italian was substituted after 62 minutes against Forest, perhaps to conserve fitness.
Kieran Trippier made his first start this season against Forest and could start this weekend. The Englishman, who recently announced his international requirement, attracted interest from other clubs this transfer window. This might cause Valentino Livramento to shift to left-back.
Newcastle Injuries and Suspensions to Consider
The fresh worry for Howe is regarding Willock, who limped off against Nottingham Forest. Despite the “relatively good news on the scan” and Howe’s thoughts that “it is not a serious injury”, Willock is unavailable.
Fabian Schar remains suspended until after the international break and Callum Wilson is also unavailable through injury. Jamal Lascelles, Sven Botman and Lewis Miley are all out with long-term injuries. The first two are out until the end of2024, but Miley could return in October.
