This is a Chelsea Women predicted lineup for their second outing of the WSL campaign. After a hard-fought win over Aston Villa the champions travel to Crystal Palace for a must-win fixture to set the tone for a tough stretch which will see Sonia Bompastor’s side face Manchester United, Arsenal, and then Tottenham Hotspur in October.

How Chelsea Women Have Lined Up Recently
The season opener gives us some insight into Bompastor’s likely first-choice eleven. Hannah Hampton started in goal after Zecira Musovic got the majority of the minutes in pre-season. Lucy Bronze has been settled in as the right back with Millie Bright and Kadiesha Buchanan as the centre-back pairing.

Niamh Charles is the starting left-back but her shoulder injury has seen Ashley Lawrence move out to the left where she will likely stay. Erin Cuthbert and Sjoeke Nusken are the defensive midfield pivot with Sandy Baltimore, Guro Reiten and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd as the trio behind the striker.
Mayra Ramirez is the starting number nine while Sam Kerr continues her recovery from injury.
Chelsea Women Recent Form and Tactics
After testing some different formations in pre-season Bompastor has opted for a 4-2-3-1 in the WSL. This came with a hard-fought win against the Villans as players adjusted to each other and their new roles.

Not to panic though, the new manager remains unbeaten since taking over the Blues with her quality, and the squad’s quality on full display in their friendly wins over Gotham FC, Arsenal, and Feyenoord.
Chelsea Injuries to Consider
Per the coach, there are no new injury updates which means Sam Kerr, Aniek Nouwen, Mia Fishel, and Sophie Ingle are the main absentees. Julia Bartel has just returned from international duty and likely won’t be ready for this one.
Chelsea Women Predicted Lineup
With three huge matches on the horizon, it would potentially be best for Bompastor to bed in a settled starting eleven rather than toying around with positions. We could see a largely unchanged side with Lauren James being the big question after receiving barely any minutes last week.
