Alisson Becker starts in goal for the third match running after he returned from injury against Wolves. Kostas Tsimikas and Trent Alexander-Arnold start as left-back and right-back respectively. Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate form the centre-back duo, with Jarell Quansah starting just once since the season opener, and that was in the EFL Cup.

Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch start as holding midfielders; the duo have been very impressive this season. Curtis Jones is the third midfielder, playing a lot more advanced than the other two
