Cheltenham Town have signed Doncaster Rovers forward Alfie May on a two-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee. May becomes Cheltenham’s first signing of the January transfer window.

Career So Far
May spent three years at Doncaster where he scored 23 goals in just under 120 appearances for the Yorkshire side.
He helped them to promotion back to League One in 2017 and was a big helping hand in their run to the League One play-off and the fifth round of the FA Cup last season, scoring 11 times in 47 appearances.
The 26-year-old started his football career in non-league in the Essex area, featuring for Billericay Town, Corinthian, Chatham Town, Bromley and VCD Athletic. However, it was his time at Erith & Belevedere in the Southern Counties East Football League that caught the eye of Crewe Alexandra, where he spent time on trial.
He didn’t earn a contract at Crewe but further spells with Farnborough and Hythe Town then saw Stevenage pay interest in him as well as Doncaster, and he signed for the latter.
What Was Said
In an interview with the club website, May said: “I can’t wait to get started. I know there’s a game tomorrow so I’m itching to get on the pitch and put the shirt on.
“I came in yesterday and met the staff and the lads. They made me feel very welcome.
“I want to get goals. I know that I’ve got an eye for goal.
“Running in behind is one of my big things and work rate. I love chasing down every ball possible.
“I’m a fit lad so I know myself that I can try and work hard and try and do something for the team.”
