Jadon Sancho has been the target of many top European clubs. The Englishman had an amazing season with Borussia Dortmund, recording 14 goals and 16 assists in 23 Bundesliga games. That’s only 60 minutes for every direct goal contribution. These amazing performances attracted interest from many top clubs, including Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United. After a lot of speculation and rumours, it seemed Sancho had chosen to go to Manchester United. Reports suggested the deal was all but done and Sancho would make the move to the Premier League for well over £100 million.

However, there have been more complications and the deal may not happen. According to a reliable French journalist, Mohamed Bouhafsi, “United took the lead to sign Jadon Sancho prior to lockdown. The club want to sign two attacking players but the pandemic has blocked negotiations.”
Others have also suggested that transfers could be much harder during and after the Coronavirus Pandemic. Former Bayern Munich president, Uli Hoeness, said football will never be the same following the coronavirus crisis and even suggested that there will be no transfers in excess of £100 million in the near future.
These statements show how much of an impact the Coronavirus could have on the footballing world. A deal that seemed virtually complete could now be in danger of falling through because of this pandemic. Clubs may no longer be able to afford paying such high sums of money for trades, United among them. With Sancho expected to go for well over £100 million, this deal may be too expensive to complete in the current situation.
The Jadon Sancho move is not the only transfer in danger. Manchester United have been rumoured with many players, as they continue to try and follow their three-year-plan.
