Hull City are on the verge of tying exciting young prospect Keane Lewis-Potter down to a new contract, according to the Yorkshire Post.

19-year-old Lewis-Potter has already found the back of the net five times for the Tigers this season as they look for an immediate return to the Championship following relegation last season.
The pacy, direct attacker is a product of the club’s academy system and will be looking to follow in the footsteps of former City winger, Jarrod Bowen. Bowen earned himself a big-money move to Premier League side West Ham United in January following several impressive performances for the Tigers in the Championship.
But manager Grant McCann has indicated that the club are close to securing the future of one of their brightest talents and are not interested in off-loading the forward to interested suitors.
Managers Reaction
Speaking to the Yorkshire Post, McCann said: “Keano is top class, he’s just getting better and better and better. I’m sure he has got a target in his head in terms of goals or where he wants to be or who he wants to play for in years to come, but at this present time, we’re delighted he’s here.
“We are negotiations with him over a new deal, which is very close. We want to keep him here for the future.”
McCann said the COVID-19 situation had played a part in delaying the agreement but feels the long-term deal isn’t far away.
He added: “He’s got another two years, plus one [on his current contract] anyway, but we want to just tie him down for a little bit longer. It’s just been difficult to get everybody in the same place because of the restrictions around the training ground, but I think we’re very close.
“Talks are going well. There’s just one or two things to polish up on. I don’t think we’re too far away.”
Lewis-Potter is likely to be involved for City as they start their FA Cup campaign against fellow League One side Fleetwood Town on Saturday. The Tigers will be looking to avenge their 4-1 defeat against Joey Barton’s side earlier in the season.
