Liverpool and Real Madrid have had a long-standing interest in the French forward – whose penalty miss resulted in France‘s exit from the European Championships.
Mbappe, 22, joined PSG from Monaco for a huge fee worth £155 million in 2017, but he could exit the French giants for free next summer.
PSG were beaten to the Ligue 1 title by Lille despite Mbappe scoring 27 league goals in 31 appearances.
Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino was appointed in January with the task of turning around a slow start to the campaign but was unsuccessful in his efforts.
According to French outlet L’Equipe, Mbappe is willing to run out the remainder of his current PSG contract, but has told certain individuals at the club that he will seek a new club in the near future.
It adds that he would only remain in the French capital if they add improvements to the squad.
Giorginio Wijnaldum has been one addition to Pochettino’s squad following the expiration of his Liverpool contract; Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma have also added reinforcements.
Liverpool are also said to be keen on bolstering their squad options. In 2020 Mbappe described the Premier League winning side as “a machine” and revealed an admiration for the Reds.
He said: “They have made winning look easy but the truth is that it is never easy.
“Performances like they have been having don’t just happen.
“To be as ruthless as they have been would come from lots of hard work in training and from having a very good manager.”
