Juventus have officially completed the signing of Mohamed Ihattaren from PSV Eindhoven. The midfielder, after putting pen to paper on a contract until 2025, will reportedly make an instant short-term exit on loan, with Sampdoria interested.
Juventus’ midfield struggles were clear last season, and, although Ihattaren will not instantly solve that, given his age, when the future comes knocking, the Dutchman could play a crucial part in keeping the former Serie A champions’ place at Europe’s top table.
Those at Juventus will hope to see the midfielder flourish out on loan, where he should receive plenty of game time to aid his development.

Big Talent
If people hadn’t heard of Mohamed Ihattaren before his move to Juventus, they’ll certainly know him now. As the season goes on, too, the more opportunities he receives on loan, if he completes the move, the more people will begin to recognise his name as one to remember.
He enters one of Italy’s biggest clubs having become PSV’s youngest ever goalscorer in European competition at the age of 17-years and 303 days on 12 December, 2019. Alongside that, he has also scored five goals in the Eredivisie since his debut in the 2018/19 season.
A midfielder that likes to pop up with a goal, Mohamed Ihattaren could become crucial for Juventus in the future. If he does well enough out on loan, we may even see him in and amongst the Juve first-team sooner rather than later. He is not a signing that will instantly get people talking, it has to be said, but he certainly a player to watch with great interest, whether he secures his loan move or not.
For now, his focus will be on impressing Massimiliano Allegri, and making sure the Juventus boss knows just how talented he is and can be in the future.
