Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that any deal for Leeds United’s Raphinha to move to Bayern Munich is not agreed, although Bayern are understood to hold an interest in the player:

No Agreement in Place

Bayern Munich are reported to be interested in Leeds star Raphinha, but are yet to make an official bid for the talented winger.

Romano has, however, confirmed that there has been no contact between the two clubs over the player and Leeds want to tie the player to a new contract. Raphinha’s current deal runs until June 2024. According to Danny Gallagher of the Daily Mail, Liverpool also have an interest in the winger, but Leeds are not keen to sell despite the fact that they would make a huge return on the £20.6 million they paid for him in 2020 when he joined from Rennes.

The rumours over a move to Bayern for Raphinha intensified when South American TV station TNT Sports suggested the player would be leaving. Leeds-Live.Co.uk translated the tweet which said:

“According to @brunoformiga, Raphinha will leave Leeds for Bayern in the next window, and the values are around 50Mi euros. A trainer club, Avaí already has its share in the negotiation, which should be 1.5 million euros, in next year’s budget.”

The reference to the ‘trainer club’ is Raphinha’s former club in Brazil, Avai who would be a keenly interested party in any sale, as they would receive a payment of 3% of any future transfer fee.

Raphinha would not be easy to replace for Leeds and despite the team struggling for any consistency in their second season in the Premier League, he has scored eight goals in 16 games and is an integral part of the club’s efforts to avoid relegation come the end of the campaign.
