Interest in midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni has seen AS Monaco set a price tag of €80 million for his transfer, with Real Madrid seemingly the preferred destination for the highly-rated Frenchman.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano: “AS Monaco have no intention to accept less than €80m for Aurélien Tchouaméni. He’s giving priority to Real Madrid as he already told his teammates – but nothing done or completed yet.”
Romano has also reported that there is still interest from other European Giants in Paris Saint- Germain and Liverpool with both clubs in contact with Tchouaméni’s agents. However, it seems that Madrid are leading the race for his signature.

AS Monaco Set Price for Star Midfielder Amid Interest From European Giants
Madrid Likely to Meet AS Monaco Price
It was previously reported that Tchouaméni sees himself playing for Real Madrid next season with the side being clear admirers of the youngster amongst other top European sides, including Liverpool, who are set to contest Madrid in the UEFA Champions League Final.
Real Madrid’s transfer plans were altered following their failure to land the signing of Kylian Mbappe after the forward agreed to a contract extension with PSG. Therefore, the Spanish giants can now turn their attention to other areas of the squad which they could potentially bolster. The addition of the French youngster will lay long-term foundations for a midfield overhaul for the Spanish Champions, with the current ageing midfield trio in Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric still delivering at the highest level.
Monaco outlined that no offer beneath €80 million will be considered for the midfielder but that will not stop Los Blancos from flexing their financial muscles in order to land one of the most talented young midfielders in Europe – a point justified by the calibre of clubs in pursuit of the 22-year-old. Tchouamémi was an instrumental part of the Monaco squad helping the side regain Champions League status this season.
Liverpool and PSG Remain In Contact With Agent
Despite reports seemingly directing towards a Tchouaméni move to Real Madrid, Liverpool and PSG remain outsiders in the race for the Monaco star.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will look to add youth to the midfield with such a signing. A player of Tchouaméni’s quality at a young age would only bolster the well-oiled machine of Liverpool making them an even bigger powerhouse than they already are.
The same can be said for the French Champions who could keep the France international in his homeland if they were to swoop in for the midfielder. However, with Monaco setting their valuation and reports suggesting the player’s preference to move to Spain, these European giants may miss out on landing this particular signing.
