Divock Origi looks set to finally complete his move to AC Milan, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Belgian will undergo his medical this week and is expected to join on a free transfer.
After senior stints in France, England and Germany, this will be Origi’s first time in Serie A. The deal has been looming for a while now, but it finally appears to be completed.

Milan are a relatively newly awoken sleeping giant. Having won seven Champions League titles and 18 Scudettos, the Rossoneri went into a period of struggle that saw them place as low as tenth domestically. But now they’re back, at least in terms of being a side that consistently mounts serious title challenges.
In the 2020/21 season, one such challenge was nearly successful, losing out to bitter rivals Inter. However, last season proved to be Milan’s, as they won their first league title in over ten years. As a result, the Rossoneri and their local rival now have 19 Scudettos each. Origi will join a recently rejuvenated Milan side that is finally heading in the right direction again, not too dissimilar to the state Liverpool were in following his 2018 loan stint at Wolfsburg.
At Liverpool, Origi was surrounded by the genius of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah. It’s understandable that he was often overshadowed. That doesn’t take anything away from his achievements, though: his decisive goal in the staggering comeback against Barcelona (that perfectly utilized Trent Alexander-Arnold’s intelligent pass); and of course, Liverpool’s second goal against Tottenham Hotspur in the 2019 Champions League final, that granted them their first such title since their miraculous comeback against Milan.
He will be intent on getting more playing time in Italy, having made just seven appearances from start in the 2021/22 Premier League season. That low tally can largely be attributed to an injury, however.
While often overshadowed by even greater brilliance around him, the mere fact that Origi got into the squads of Liverpool and this Belgian national team indicates just how potent he is.
