Raheem Sterling ‘Done’: Chelsea’s Move for England International Moves One Step Closer to Completion
Why Sterling to Chelsea Makes Sense
Romelu Lukaku has recently returned to Inter Milan and Hakim Ziyech looks destined to leave Chelsea this summer, meaning the club will undoubtedly be looking at upgrading their attacking options. With Sterling about to enter the last year of his contract, a quick resolution for both clubs and the player would suit all involved.
The England international was in and out of Pep Guardiola’s team last season, so will be eager to secure regular first-team football ahead of the World Cup in November. After seven years at the Etihad, the England star has communicated his desire for a new challenge with Chelsea identifying the Manchester City attacker as their priority attacking transfer target.

Chelsea found goals hard to come by at vital moments last season, especially from wide areas. Sterling would offer a consistent solution to this troublesome issue for the west London club. He brings exceptional acceleration and an eye for goal, which saw the England winger score 17 goals in 49 appearances, despite finding himself on the bench at important parts of the season.

Sterling would give Chelsea a winger who has a proven end product in the Premier League. The deal seemingly would benefit the player, as Tuchel is clearly prioritising a move for the Manchester City star, suggesting he would be given a starting role at Stamford Bridge. He is currently on a £300,000-a-week contract at City, but personal terms are not thought to be a potential stumbling block in the completion of this deal.
