Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri is going to be loaned to a Championship club before the start of the season, reports Sky Sports. The 19-year-old has made two appearances so far in pre-season and will be moved to guarantee him more regular playing minutes at a senior level.

The young midfielder has been making waves at youth level for the Red Devils in recent years and even won their Reserve Player of the Year award in the 2020/21 season. Erik ten Hag wants Mejbri to play more regularly next season, but can’t guarantee him that at United because of their packed squad and options on that side of the pitch.
Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion, Middlesbrough and Millwall are all keen on signing the Tunisian international after seeing his performances for United’s reserve side last season.

There has also been interest from the Portuguese side Braga as well as multiple Spanish clubs. However, United want the 19-year-old midfielder to stay in England and continue his development in a similar environment to the Premier League.

The Red Devils have been quite pleased with how Hannibal Mejbri has trained with them in pre-season and the matches in which he has appeared in. The young midfielder is widely regarded as a bright prospect for the future and someone who can become a first-team regular in the years to come.
United only want to loan him because they want him to play regular football and start more games at the senior level. They are hoping that a loan move can benefit him and that he can gain a lot of knowledge from playing regularly in an intense league like the Championship.
