Gavi’s New Contract Talks ‘In Key Stages’ After Negotiations
The La Liga giants have been trying to tie down their young midfielder to a new contract for a long time, but it didn’t make major progress in recent months as they were focused on signing major players in the summer transfer window. Now that the window is shut, the Blaugrana are focused on tying down one of the biggest talents in their team.

Romano adds that the discussions between the club and Gavi’s representatives are heading into the right way after a long period of negotiations. That is why Xavi’s side are not panicking about the possible risk of the 18-year-old agreeing on a deal with another club. Barcelona are so confident about things that they consider the Spaniard’s new contract to be completed in a matter of short time and are going to make it official once everything is agreed.
Gavi Considered as Crucial Part of Barcelona’s Future
Ever since making his breakthrough into the first team last year, the 18-year-old midfielder has been an ever-present figure with the La Liga side and made himself a key part of their midfield. Xavi is a big fan of the Spaniard and reportedly stepped in to help accelerate his contract renewal talks after the two were stuck in a contract stand-off.

Gavi has shown admirable maturity for his age and even become an important of the Spanish national team over this year. Luis Enrique adores him and dubbed him as an ‘erupting volcano’ after Spain’s 2-0 win over the Czech Republic in a UEFA Nations League game back in June. Despite his age, the teenage sensation has already made 10 appearances for La Roja and 38 La Liga appearances for Barcelona – and he is set to play a key role in both teams for the long-term future.
