Mount’s Current Contract
The 23-year-old is currently under contract with the West London club until the summer of 2024, with his last contract extension occurring three years ago in 2019.
The Face of Chelsea
Mason Mount has been a fan favourite ever since Frank Lampard gave him his opportunity in the first team at Chelsea. After working together during Lampard’s spell at Derby County, the ex-Chelsea player decided that Mount was ready to make an impact in the Premier League.
That decision has proven to be one of the best Chelsea have made in recent times. Much like Bukayo Saka at Arsenal and Phil Foden at Manchester City, Mount provided his club’s fans with a talented young English footballer who captured the very essence of it what it meant to play for the club.

The 23-year-old midfielder has shone ever since that moment, providing both creativity and goals from midfield, as well as showing impressive versatility when deployed on the right-wing too. However, his maturity, which is far beyond his years, is just as impressive and is a massive reason why Chelsea fans adore him.
In fact, whilst Cesar Azpilicueta remains the club captain, Mount’s leadership skills saw Thomas Tuchel name the Englishman as his captain on multiple occasions.
Speaking before their FA Cup quarter-final clash with Sheffield United in March of last year, a game in which Mount was captaining the side for the second time, Tuchel said, as quoted by Football.London: “He deserves it, leadership isn’t a question of age and he has everything you need to lead the team out here in this game. I’m happy for him and I’m sure he’ll show up.”
The German coach was proven right as the midfielder went on to help guide his side to a 2-0 victory in that game
Mason Mount is an excellent football player, with an evidently bright future at Chelsea, and everyone involved with the club will be hoping to see him sign a contract extension sooner rather than later.
