What Does the Georginio Rutter Deal Look Like?

Georginio Rutter’s Leeds United move will come to a total of around £35 million after all of the club’s add-ons are achieved. This is the club’s transfer record by a margin, exceeding Rodrigo’s £27 million on the club’s Premier League return.

The player’s contract is one of the more interesting parts of the move. Rutter has a contract until 2028, which provides the club with plenty of potential resale value and time to develop the youngster. Long contracts and young players are both fundamental columns of Victor Orta’s ongoing transfer strategy.

Where Does The Forward Fit In?

The French forward fits in perfectly to Jesse Marsch’s side. Elland Road is missing a creator that builds attacks from nowhere, with the Frenchman fitting that profile perfectly. He is one of the top dribblers in the Bundesliga, and has a keen eye for a great pass. One of the major risks is his lack of finishing prowess, but that is something the club can develop over time.

Centre-forward was the biggest target at Elland Road. Leeds United’s lack of striker is evident, especially with Patrick Bamford out, and Rutter provides some more depth at the top of the pitch.

What Leeds United Transfers Are Next?

In spite of securing Rutter, Leeds United’s transfer business is not yet complete. There is a big gap remaining in central midfield after the departure of Mateusz Klich. After signing Rutter, Azzedine Ounahi seems to be the next big target, adding even more stability to a squad that requires a solid base to attack from.
