Cole Palmer Agrees to Chelsea Transfer

The Chelsea hierarchy see the Englishman as the perfect player to solve their attacking issues. The injury to Christopher Nkunku has left the Blues short in the attacking midfield area, and Palmer seemingly fits the bill.

The five-time Premier League champions have now agreed a transfer fee of £40 million plus £5 million add-ons, which will see the 21-year-old move to Stamford Bridge.

What Kind of Player is Palmer?

Palmer first caught the eye of Pep Guardiola back in 2018 and started training with the first team. The left-footed attacker is highly agile and possesses impressive dribbling skills, making him a threat in one-on-one situations. His technical abilities allow him to wriggle free from tight spaces and drive at opponents. Having a player this direct will add a new dimension to the Chelsea attack, providing them another weapon when they counterattack.

The City Academy product usually operates on the right wing but is versatile and can also play on the left side of the attack or as an attacking midfielder. The England U-21 international has even played as a striker under Guardiola. His profile fits Mauricio Pochettino’s demands of an attacker perfectly. Palmer looks set to leave Manchester City, having played 41 times, scoring six goals, and providing two assists for his teammates.
