Man Utd’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka Injured for Up to Two Months

Injury Crisis Deepens Ahead of Bayern Munich Tie

The 25-year-old right-back made a brief appearance against the Seagulls, replacing Lisandro Martinez as United switched to a back three in the dying minutes of the game in a late effort to launch a comeback.

In a cruel twist of fate, the right back suffered some discomfort in his hamstring and is likely to miss up to two months.

Watch: What Manchester United Need to Learn From Brighton

Erik ten Hag will rue his fortunes, as the English defender’s absence leaves only two senior fullbacks available in his squad as his side face a busy stretch of European and Premier League fixtures. Diogo Dalot and loanee signing Sergio Reguilon are the only options with significant experience in the senior competitions.

United’s head coach has suggested that new signing Sofyan Amrabat could play at full-back, although the Moroccan is still yet to debut for the Red Devils after being ruled out for international duty this month with an injury of his own.

Wan-Bissaka has faced significant spells out of favour since his £50 million move from Crystal Palace in 2019 but has managed to revitalise his career at the club from standout defensive performances.

After his brilliant performance against Kauro Mitoma in his side’s FA Cup Semi-Final tie last season, James Maddison took to social media to label the full-back as “ridiculously good” and “probably the best” in one versus one situations.

Fans Left Rueing Wan-Bissaka Injury Misfortune

Many fans have been devastated by the latest injury news, with some claiming that “Man Utd are cursed” after Wan-Bissaka was benched on Saturday, only to come on and pick up a significant injury within ten minutes. Others have attributed the extroadinary number of injuries to an increased fixture list last season.

Even with the significant fixture list played through by the club last season, their lack of luck seems incredible considering their close rivals level of stability during their treble run last season.

Manchester City managed to stay largely injury free in 2022/23 despite using the second-smallest number of players across Europe’s top five leagues last season.

Man Utd Set for Bayern Munich Nightmare Amid Injury Crisis

The Red Devils travel to Germany in midweek to face Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the UEFA Champions League. Ten Hag will certainly be concerned about their chances with a weakened team list and damaged squad morale following recent results.

Wan-Bissaka is a new addition to the injury list ahead of the European tie, along with Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Raphael Varane, Tyrell Malacia, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, and Tom Heaton. Amrabat’s status is uncertain after missing the weekend’s game at Old Trafford.
