Liverpool have gone through a bit of a rollercoaster of a 2024 and were left stunned last month when Jurgen Klopp announced that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season. Amid this, there have been questions swirling over the future of Mohamed Salah again.

Are Saudi Clubs Going To Push For Mohamed Salah Again?
Fabrizio Romano has had to clarify the situation over the Egyptian winger getting linked with a possible move to Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad and states that there is still no definitive update on the long-term situation of Salah because it is still too early into the new year.

He also adds that the Reds are currently focused on finding their new manager and a sporting director, which will automatically be the start of a new project which the players will need to decide whether want to be a long-term part of or not. Romano states that it needs to be seen what plans Liverpool have with the acquisition of those two important individuals before realizing their stance on deals such as entertaining a possible exit for Salah.
He claims that “for sure” there is still genuine interest from Saudi clubs to sign the Egyptian winger, but there is nothing happening over any agreement in February.
Who Could Liverpool Appoint As New Manager?
The Reds have not been able to give any kind of a hint over who will be taking over as the new manager after the departure of Klopp, but it has been reported that Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso is one of the prospects being considered for the job. Whoever takes up the role will not only have a huge job at ensuring that the club keeps playing the same brand of exciting attacking football but also convincing the current players to remain a part of the squad for years to come.

Salah attracted major interest from Saudi clubs last summer too, with Liverpool reportedly rejecting a record offer for him and just about keeping him in the squad. But they will face a major task to do the same without having someone like Klopp who can be an attractive incentive for the winger to stay for the long term.
The Egyptian star, who was hailed for his “incredible” goal-scoring ability last season, has scored 18 goals in 27 appearances for the Reds this season and his current contract expires at the end of June 2025.
