FPL Tips: Three Nottingham Forest Players to Transfer in for Gameweek Two

With the Gameweek Two FPL deadline coming up on August 24 at 11:00, here are three Nottingham Forest players who should be considered for your team this weekend.

Three Nottingham Forest Players That Could Bring in Crucial Points vs Southampton

Chris Wood – £6.0 Million – LWOF FPL Gameweek Two Choice

The second-most expensive Forest FPL player going into Gameweek Two, Chris Wood is our top pick for this weekend. The New Zealand international bagged his side’s first goal of the season last weekend against Bournemouth and played 71 minutes, giving him six points. He was also handed the highest bonus of three points, giving him a weekend total of nine.

If you’re struggling to think of a hidden gem striker option, Wood could be your choice. Forest’s opponents for this weekend in Southampton failed to crack a Newcastle team that had ten men from the 28th minute last Saturday, while the goal they conceded came after a slight defensive calamity, allowing Joelinton to score and hand the Magpies all three points. If the Saints produce a similar performance at the back this weekend, Wood will feast and £6 million could well turn out to be a bargain with his price likely to rise.

Morgan Gibbs-White – Midfielder – £6.5 Million

Selected by 4.5% of fantasy players, Gibbs-White is a guaranteed starter in this Forest side, with many attacks from Nuno’s side going through him in the final third. Against a shaky-looking Southampton defence, the 24-year-old could have a lot of fun dictating play and is a shoe-in to play over sixty minutes which would give him two points. Having played 29 full 90s out of 37 in 2022/23, Gibbs-White is a pretty safe bet for an easy few points if you’re looking for an alternative to the more favoured £7.5 million+ priced midfielders.

Matz Sels – Goalkeeper – £4.5 Million

Sels was mightily unlucky not to keep a clean sheet last weekend vs the Cherries, letting Antoine Semenyo squeeze in a rebound from close range four minutes from time despite pulling off an impressive initial save.

If Forest are to keep their first league clean sheet since February, now could be the time to do it. Southampton’s starting striker duo vs Newcastle consisted of Ben Brereton Diaz and Adam Armstrong, the pair having a combined Premier League goal tally of ten. This strikeforce is undoubtedly one of the league’s least threatening, so Sels should make the most of this match with his experience ahead of much tougher tests on the horizon.
