This is the Chelsea confirmed lineup for their Europa Conference League league phase opener against Belgian side Gent. Enzo Maresca’s charges are attempting to complete an interesting record as winning this tournament would make them the first club in history to win each UEFA club competition as they are former Super Cup, Europa League, and most notably, two-time Champions League winners. Before getting there, the Blues will have to get through the new-look league phase.

Notable Changes
As expected there are wholesale changes as Maresca balances his European conquest with a tricky Premier League tie this weekend with Nottingham Forest. Jorgensen comes in to play in goal which could be an interesting move after Sanchez’s mistakes against the Seagulls, some good performances could see the former Villarreal man take over as the number one option for the season.
Casadei continuing to be used as the deepest midfielder indicates a stubbornness of a good kind from the manager who is creating a solution to his squad’s one major problem. Dewsbury-Hall can occupy space as the free midfielder and could play a key role in allowing the attacking four to run riot
