Yannick Weber Re-Signs With Nashville Predators

Defenceman Yannick Weber has signed a one-year, $650,000 contract with the Nashville Predators. It is a one-way contract that guarantees him league minimum NHL salary even if he is assigned to the AHL. Weber will be an unrestricted free agent following the end of this deal.

Yannick Weber Re-Signs With Nashville Predators

Weber has played as a member of the Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks, and Nashville Predators over the course of 347 career NHL games. Over the course of his career he has 23 goals and 55 assists for 88 career points.

Last season, he played 73 games scoring one goal and eight points for the Predators. He also played in all 22 of the Predators playoff games, picking up just one assist. Weber played most games on the third pair with Matt Irwin. He has scored two goals and three assists in 34 career playoff games.

He signed as a free agent with the Predators last summer.

Weber, 28, was originally drafted by the Canadiens in third-round (73rd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. The Switzerland Native played his junior hockey with the Kitchener Rangers in the Ontario Hockey League. He has been a staple on Swiss international teams throughout his pro career.
