NHL Predictions
Arizona Coyotes vs Ottawa Senators
Head-to-Head: Coyotes 1-0 Senators
TV: Scripps; TSN5; ESPN+
Our opening game of NHL predictions has the Arizona Coyotes looking to stop a 14-game losing streak. Arizona gave the Toronto Maple Leafs a game, but lost 4-2 last night. Karel Vejmelka is the expected starter after Connor Ingram played the night before. However, always check social media before locking in a fantasy starter. Clayton Keller is first in goals with 22 and tied with Matias Maccelli in assists with 30.
The Ottawa Senators are expected to go with Anton Forsberg in between the pipes for this game. Ottawa has dropped two straight games and three of the last five. The Senators are led by Brady Tkachuk’s 26 goals and Tim Stutzle’s 40 assists. Ottawa has struggled on special teams with a 26th-ranked power play and 31st-rated penalty kill.
Arizona has been playing hard, but Ottawa is solid at home.
Prediction: Senators win 4-2.
Philadelphia Flyers vs Washington Capitals
Head-to-Head: Flyers 1-0 Capitals
TV: Monument Sports Network; NBC Sports Philadelphia; NHL Network
Our featured game of NHL predictions has the Flyers looking to hold onto the last automatic playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division. Samuel Ersson will likely get the start in the blue paint for Philadelphia, which has lost three of the last five. The Flyer’s offence has scored six goals each of the last two games. Philadelphia won the first meeting of the season via a 4-3 shootout. Travis Konecny leads the Flyers in goals with 27.
Washington will roll with Charlie Lindgren in goal for tonight’s game. The Capitals have won three of the last five, but lost to the Detroit Red Wings last time out. Washington sits six points in back of Philadelphia for a Stanley Cup Playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Dylan Strome leads the team in goals with 21, but Alex Ovechkin has been doing well in the last month.
Both teams need the win, but Philadelphia gets the job done on the road.
Prediction: Flyers win 4-3.
New Jersey Devils vs Anaheim Ducks
Head-to-Head: Devils 0-1 Ducks
TV: MSSGN; Bally Sports West; ESPN+
Our last game of NHL predictions has the New Jersey Devils out west facing the Anaheim Ducks. Nico Daws is the projected starter for the Devils, who have won out of the last three games. This is a pivotal road trip for the Devils, who may sell off a few assets at the March 8 trade deadline. Tyler Toffoli leads the team in goals with 25 while Jesper Bratt has 39 assists.
Lukas Dostal is the expected starter for the Ducks, who stopped a three-game losing streak last time out against the San Jose Sharks. Possible trade candidate Frank Vatrano leads the team in goals with 27 while Troy Terry is first in assists with 28. However, Terry did miss the game against San Jose. Keep an eye on his status if you have him in your fantasy lineup. Cam Fowler may also be a game-time decision after taking a puck to the face the other night versus the Sharks.
New Jersey needs wins to determine its course of action at the deadline. Anaheim seems to be playing out the string.
Prediction Devils win 5-2.
