We are one day closer to the start of the 2024-25 NHL season. With the regular-season schedule released, we will be looking at the St. Louis Blues schedule.
St. Louis Blues 2024-25 Schedule Analysis
Tuesday, October 8 at Seattle Kraken
A new season. A clean slate. Even in the midst of a retool, the first game will bring excitement and anticipation to Blues fans.
The matchup with the Kraken will be interesting. The Blues will go against former teammates Jaden Schwartz and Vince Dunn. Furthermore, they will go against the Kraken’s big free-agent signing, defenceman Brandon Montour.
Tuesday, October 15 vs. Minnesota Wild
Blues fans fondly remember the 2019 home opener when the Blues raised their first Stanley Cup banner. The game against the Wild will not come close to measuring up to that night, but a return to the Enterprise Center will certainly be a fun time for fans, players, and staff.

November 5-30
November will see the Blues play 14 games. Furthermore, 13 of those will come in a four-week stretch. The Blues will have four weeks in a row where they will have at least three games in said week. Six of these games will be against teams who made the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season. Another will be against the San Jose Sharks, who swept the Blues in last year’s season series. Furthermore, the Sharks head into the new season after a strong performance at the NHL Draft, indicating they will be a better team than last year.
The Blues cannot clinch a playoff spot in November. However, a month may put them in a tough spot that they would need to try to climb out.
There will be 28 points up for grabs for the Blues in the month of November.
December 10-20
The Blues will play seven games in 11 days from January 10-20. One of these games includes a road matchup with the defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers.
If the Blues can persevere through that stretch, they will have their three-day Christmas break the next week to rest.
Tuesday, December 31 at Chicago Blackhawks for the 2025 Winter Classic at Wrigley Field
The Blues will participate in their third Winter Classic when they head to the Windy City to play the Blackhawks. The Blues will look to remain perfect in the Winter Classic while the Blackhawks will look for their first Winter Classic win.
While the Blues and Blackhawks are in their respective retools and rebuilds, the game at Wrigley Field can be looked at as a reminder of the rivalry’s past and future.
Monday, January 20 and Thursday, January 23; Home-And-Home With Vegas Golden Knights
The Blues chased the Golden Knights for the last playoff spot last season. A key game in the final week of the season saw the Golden Knights beat the Blues 2-1 in overtime. The Golden Knights would make the playoffs while the Blues missed for a second-straight season.
If the Blues want to return to the playoffs, beating the Golden Knights would help in a few ways. First off, the wins would give them four points against a team they may be competing against for a playoff spot. Furthermore, winning both games could give the Blues extra confidence as they head into the stretch run of the season.
For Blues fans, the game at the Enterprise Center will get a chance to see former Blues and Stanley Cup Champions, Alex Pietrangelo and Ivan Barbashev.
February 9-21
The Blues will not play any games from February 9-21. This does not mean players will not be in action, however. From February 12-20, NHL players will be competing in the inaugural 4 Nations Face-Off.
March 2-15
The Blues will go on a six-game road trip over the course of 13 days. With all but one game being against a Western Conference opponent, the trip has the potential to make or break the Blues season. Not only will they be going up against quality teams (all but two made the playoffs last year), but the travel will add to their fatigue.
With this trip coming late in the season, a very important 12 points will be up for grabs.
Tuesday, April 15 vs. Utah Hockey Club
The Blues final game of the year will be at home against the Utah Hockey Club. Time will tell whether this game is just the last stop before the Stanley Cup Playoffs, or if fans will be saying goodbye to the Blues for the summer.
Drop The Puck
As the season begins and continues, other games may become more significant. Some mentioned here may become less significant.
The 82-game regular season is full of many twists and turns. The only way to find what the 2023-24 season has in store for the Blues is to simply drop the puck and get it started.
October 8 is only a little over three months away!
