Fantasy Football Week 10 Quarterback Waiver Wire Streams: Daniel Jones, Ryan Fitzpatrick, More

Fantasy Football Week 10 Quarterback Waiver Wire Streams: Daniel Jones and Ryan Fitzpatrick should carry some fantasy football value moving forward.
Daniel Jones

Eight weeks of NFL play are officially in the books, which means bye weeks are in full swing. Gone are the days where you could just coast by on a strong draft. Now more than ever, you’ll need to search the waiver wire for all the best available quarterbacks. Heading into Week 9, you should set your eyes on Daniel Jones, Ryan Fitzpatrick, whoever starts for the Colts, and Sam Darnold.

Note that in order to make this list, the player had to be available in over 50% of fantasy leagues. If you’re in smaller leagues, there may be better players available. Make sure to check your waivers to see if there are any diamonds in the rough before submitting your claims.

Daniel Jones, Ryan Fitzpatrick Highlight Fantasy Football Week 10 Quarterback Waiver Wire Streams

Daniel Jones

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is still something of a work-in-progress in his NFL development. While he’s capable of making some great throws, he lacks pocket presence and tends to turn the ball over too much. While good defenses can exploit his weaknesses, Jones has the ability to take advantage and dominate bad defenses.

Jones faces off against the New York Jets and their horrible defense in Week 10. Adam Gase might not be the coach at this point next week, and the interim probably won’t have any more success turning this into an NFL-caliber unit. The Jets just allowed the Dolphins to go crazy through the air, and Jones should be able to do the same with Golden Tate and Evan Engram.

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Don’t look now, but Ryan Fitzpatrick has actually played relatively well for the Miami Dolphins. He’s no Russell Wilson, but Fitzpatrick has put together a few quality outings for one of the worst teams in the league. Last week, Fitzpatrick completed 24 of his 36 pass attempts for 288 yards, three touchdowns, and no interception. Two weeks earlier, the journeyman quarterback completed 65.7% of his passes for 282 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

Fitzpatrick has started in this league for quite some time, so everyone knows he’s capable of going off for a big game at any given moment. Unfortunately, everyone also knows that he’s just as likely to throw four interceptions without a touchdown. Starting Fitzpatrick is inherently risky, but he should be a solid streamer against the Indianapolis Colts.

Jacoby Brissett/Brian Hoyer

As of this posting, nobody knows if Jacoby Brissett or Brian Hoyer will start in Week 10 for the Indianapolis Colts. Brissett suffered an injury early in Week 9’s matchup and Hoyer played admirably in relief, throwing for 168 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Brissett’s played well this season, and Hoyer has a track record of being a starting-caliber quarterback for short stretches of time. Both quarterbacks are capable of taking advantage of a favorable matchup, and that’s exactly what they have in Week 10.

Brissett/Hoyer and the Colts face one of the best matchups imaginable against the Miami Dolphins. While Brian Flores’ unit held Sam Darnold in check, they probably won’t be able to do the same to the Colts. Miami’s defense is still atrocious, even if they performed well against a subpar offense. Whichever quarterback makes the start should have a solid game in Week 10.

Sam Darnold

Outside of his performance against Dallas, Sam Darnold has not played well this year. The former third overall pick struggled in Week 9, throwing for 260 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against an atrocious Miami Dolphins defense. He’s nobody’s idea of a good streamer, but he can be a decent play in deeper leagues.

Darnold and company face off against an objectively bad New York Giants defense in Week 10. The Giants cannot stop anything through the air, and Darnold should be able to exploit this matchup. Adam Gase might not be the coach in Week 10, which is honestly the best thing possible for Darnold’s development. At this point in time, we all know that Adam Gase simply isn’t capable of elevating a quarterback’s play with his scheme. Maybe whoever takes his place as interim head coach can.
