For the third time in his career, wide receiver Brandin Cooks is on the move. The Houston Texans are reportedly in the process of acquiring Cooks from the Los Angeles Rams, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport. Rapoport adds that the Texans are sending a second-round pick for Cooks and an additional fourth-round pick.

Houston Texans, Los Angeles Rams Agree to Brandin Cooks Trade
Brandin Cooks is coming off the worst season of his young career. Despite playing in 14 games, the former first-round pick battled concussion issues for a large portion of the season and never truly looked like his old self. Over the course of the year, the former first-round pick recorded just 42 receptions for 583 yards and two touchdowns.
Brandin Cooks, of course, is no stranger to the trade market. Prior to the start of the 2017 season, the New Orleans Saints sent Cooks to the New England Patriots in exchange for a first- and third-round pick. During his lone season in New England, the speedy wide receiver recorded 65 receptions for 1,082 yards and seven touchdowns. One season later, the Patriots traded Cooks to Los Angeles in exchange for another first-round pick. During Cooks’ first season with the Rams, he recorded 80 receptions for 1,204 yards and five touchdowns. Cooks made the Super Bowl in both 2017 and 2018, but has yet to win a title.
This move marks Houston’s second major wide receiver transaction. Earlier in the offseason, the Texans traded superstar wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals. In exchange for Hopkins’ services, the Texans also received running back David Johnson and a second-round pick. With Hopkins out of the picture, Cooks will join a wide receiver room highlighted by Will Fuller, Randall Cobb, and Kenny Stills.
The Los Angeles Rams, meanwhile, gain some much-needed draft capital. After acquiring Jalen Ramsey at the 2018 trade deadline, the Rams do not have a first-round pick until the 2022 NFL Draft. Their last first-round pick came when they selected quarterback Jared Goff with the first pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.
