With training camp underway and the preseason fast approaching, Last Word on Pro Football is analyzing the schedules of all 32 NFL teams. Each team’s 16-game slate will be split into its most difficult (1-8) and easiest games (9-16). For this article, the Miami Dolphins most difficult games of 2020 will be discussed.

1. Week 15: vs Kansas City Chiefs
No surprise with this one. The Kansas City Chiefs should be in this spot on every team’s schedule ranking series this season. They will enter the 2020 season as the Super Bowl favorites, and it would be hard to find anyone that could argue against it. This team is bringing back the majority of its roster from last season, and they locked up Patrick Mahomes to the mother of all extensions just a few weeks ago. Hopefully Tua Tagovailoa is starting by this point in the season. It would be a can’t-miss game to watch these two young quarterbacks go head to head. Regardless of who is starting at quarterback for the Dolphins, look for the Chiefs to do “Mahomes things” and win by double digits.
2. Week 8: at San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers are expected to be Super Bowl contenders once again this season. They have arguably one of the best rosters in the league. They also have the brightest young offensive minds in Kyle Shanahan as their Head Coach. With a solid draft, and another year of development from young stars Nick Bosa and Deebo Samuel, it would be no surprise to see the 49ers run away with this game.
3. Week 7: vs Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks will forever be a playoff contender as long as Russell Wilson is their quarterback. With another year of development from rookie standout D.K. Metcalf, the Seahawks passing game is expected to continue evolving into something much more explosive than it has been in recent years. Add in the fact that they are one of the better running teams in the league, and it is easy to see why they would be just a little too much for a young Miami Dolphins team.
4. Week 12: at New England Patriots
While the Dolphins seem to have found the answer to dealing with the New England Patriots in Miami, they have not had any such luck when playing them in New England. This game takes place a little more than halfway through the season, so it is likely to be a little bit chillier there. As we have all seen countless times throughout the years, elite defenses and cold weather are a brutal combination. Prayers that this is not Tua Tagovailoa’s first game as a starter.
5. Week 6: at Buffalo Bills
No one ever wants to play in Buffalo, let alone in the winter. Luckily enough for the Dolphins they will not have to. Even though the Dolphins are making their yearly trip to Buffalo earlier in the season, it is still not going to be a cakewalk. Regardless of the weather, Buffalo remains one of the most hostile environments for opposing teams in the NFL. Throw in the fact that the Buffalo Bills look like they’re poised to make another playoff push this season, and it will be no surprise for the Dolphins to head back to Miami with an L.
6. Week 10: at Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders are one of the teams that is likely to take the next step this season and enter the playoffs for just the second time in almost two decades. They had what many consider to be one of the better off-seasons in the NFL, and it will be the third year with head coach Jon Gruden in place. The Dolphins have had no issue when playing the Raiders in Miami throughout the years, but things are likely to be different this time around when they travel out west to the new stadium in Las Vegas.
7. Week 13: vs Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills are considered by many to be the favorites to win the AFC East this year, and rightfully so. As long as Josh Allen works on his down-the-field accuracy, and continues to develop as a passer overall, then the Bills should be able to capitalize in what should be a much easier division now. While this is a winnable game for the Dolphins, don’t be shocked if the Bills sweep the series this season.
8. Week 3: at Arizona Cardinals
On top of having what looks to be like a solid draft, the Arizona Cardinals also traded for one of the best, if not the best, wide receivers in the game in DeAndre Hopkins. It looks like the days of being a basement dweller of the NFC West are a thing of the past for the Cardinals. Arizona seems to be just a year or two ahead of Miami in terms of the rebuilding process, so look for the Cardinals to walk away from this game with a win. Especially considering that Tua Tagovailoa is likely to still be riding the bench this early in the season.
