The NFL Draft is still under two weeks away, but that hasn’t stopped betting sites like DraftKings from posting their latest AFC East Divisional Winner odds. After two decades of dominance atop the AFC East, the Buffalo Bills finally dethroned the New England Patriots in 2020. DraftKings expects that to happen again, as they currently have Buffalo -150 to take home the divisional crowd. These odds will obviously change between now and the start of the season, but they’re still worth analyzing now.

Buffalo Bills (-150)
The Buffalo Bills had a wildly successful season in 2020, as Josh Allen took the proverbial leap right when Tom Brady left the AFC East. Buffalo’s roster is one of the best in the entire NFL, as they have all the things you need to build a competitive team. Allen looks like a franchise quarterback, and the receiving trio of Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, and Gabriel Davis is one the best in the league. With a top-five coach in Sean McDermott leading the way, it’s easy to see why this team is the favorite to repeat as division champions.

Miami Dolphins (+325)
Projecting the Miami Dolphins depends entirely on how much you believe in quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The Alabama product had an objectively terrible rookie season, but the Dolphins aren’t giving up on the former fifth-overall pick. Tagovailoa probably deserves another shot, as he spent his first offseason recovering from a serious hip injury. When on the field, he had to deal with a below-average offensive line and receivers.
The defense should remain one of the better units in the league, and Will Fuller will help create a more dangerous passing game. However, if Tagovailoa can’t make the next step, it’s hard to imagine this team even competing for the divisional crown. Even if Tagoviloa can play up to his collegiate potential, it still probably won’t be enough to catch Buffalo. New England Patriots (+350)
Bill Belichick just watched Tom Brady win a Super Bowl without him and had over $65 million in available cap space entering free agency. It is no surprise that the eight-time Super Bowl champion went absolutely wild on the open market, and those moves definitely improved the team. However, there is still a major question at quarterback.
Cam Newton didn’t stand much of a shot with such a terrible supporting cast, but he still didn’t look good last year. New England will have a hard time getting a better quarterback with the 15th pick in the NFL Draft, so they might have to make do with Newton for another season. However, the defense should be much better and the passing game should actually be competent in 2021, which means this team could compete for a Wild Card spot.
New York Jets (+2000)
Even with Zach Wilson set to be the franchise quarterback, the New York Jets have a long, long way to go. This team needs help at just about every position, and it’s going to be a while before they’re ready to seriously compete. That said, there are some nice pieces in place here. Corey Davis should be a solid starter in more pass-happy offense, and Robert Saleh seems like the right man for the job. This team should have better odds next year, but this looks like another rebuilding year for New York.
