Josh Norman Signs With San Francisco 49ers

NFL veteran cornerback Josh Norman is no longer a free agent. The defensive back spent the 2020 NFL season with the Buffalo Bills.

Longtime NFL veteran cornerback Josh Norman signed a new contract with the San Francisco 49ers. Norman spent the 2020 season with the Buffalo Bills.

Norman signed a one-year in early 2020 for six million dollars. During nine games with the Bills, Norman had one touchdown from an interception of 16 yards. Norman missed three games after suffering a hamstring injury on August 21, 2020. During three playoff games, Norman had six tackles and caused one forced fumble. The Bills would go on to lose to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.

In 2016 Norman signed a five-year, $75 million dollar contract with the Washington Football Team. During 16 games in the 2016-17 season, Norman had three interceptions for 38 yards. Norman suffered a wrist sprain and a concussion, both in October. In the 2017-18 season, Norman played in 14 games and manages two forced fumbles with one fumble recovery. Norman suffered broken ribs on October 1st. In 16 games during the 2018-19 season, Norman had three interceptions for 79 yards; as well as, three forced fumbles. During the 2019-2020 season, Norman played in 16 14 games and had one interception for two yards. Norman suffered a hamstring pull on October 16th and missed the week seven game against the San Fransisco 49ers. Norman was released by Washington on February 14th.

The Carolina Panthers drafted Norman in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL draft. During the 2012-2013 season, Norman played in 16 games managing one interception for two yards. Norman suffered a knee sprain during the 2013-2014 season, which limited Norman to only seven games. Norman played in two playoff games. During the 2014-2015 season, Norman played in 14 games managing two interceptions for 60 yards. Norman suffered both a concussion and a shoulder injury in October. Norman played in three playoff games. In 2015, Norman was named to the Pro Bowl and was named as a First-Team All-Pro.
