If you think the 2-2 Packers at 1-3 Raiders doesn’t sound like a good reason to watch television on Monday night you’re probably correct. And two days ago Jimmy G was still in the concussion protocol which makes the game a bit uglier. But that’s no excuse to avoid the DraftKings DFS Monday night slate, as there are plenty of bargains to be had too.

DraftKings Bargains for Week 5 Monday Night Football
DraftKings DFS Must Have Pick – Packers D/ST*
Assuming Jimmy Garoppolo doesn’t play, this is a no-brainer. Aidan O’Connell was fine last week, he threw 39 passes though. That’s a lot of chances for the Packers to pick him off. O’Connell was also sacked seven times last week. Five different Packers have recorded sacks in the first four games of the season, including rookie Lukas Van Ness. Van Ness has only played on 35% of the defensive snaps but he’s still had an impact.
Joe Barry will be looking forward to dialing up some exotic blitzes in Vegas. Even though the Packers never really got going last week against the Lions they picked up two sacks and created a turnover. At $3,500 on this DraftKings DFS slate, they’re well worth the investment.
The “It Might Just Work” Pick – Josiah Deguara
Only 10 teams have allowed tight ends to score more fantasy points in 2023 than the Raiders. And $2,800 is a snip for a healthy tight end on a DraftKings Monday night slate.
While much-hyped rookie Luke Musgrave is the Packers’ number 1 tight end he’s on the way back from a concussion. Deguara is yet to drop a catch this season. The Packers haven’t used him particularly effectively yet, but he’s doing his bit.
He started three games but they’ve only passed to him in two of those games. In Musgrave’s absence, Deguara hauled in four passes last week. Maybe this is the game they realize that it’s a good idea to pass to someone who has a 100% catch rate even if you have a superstar rookie.
DraftKings Monday Night Smart Play Pick – Romeo Doubs
He’s $4,900 on this week’s DraftKings DFS slate and he could be the Packers’ WR1. Christian Watson’s hamstring injury seems to be a bit more persistent than first thought. Doubs should be lining up opposite rookie cornerback Jackorian Bennett. Bennet is the Raiders’ worst pass defender so far this season, he’s allowing a passer rating of 134.8 when he’s targeted. And he’s allowing an 80% completion rate.
Last week Doubs saw 13 targets and caught nine of them. He’s now the Packers’ most-targeted receiver in 2023. His 33 targets are eight more than Jayden Reed has seen.
DraftKings DFS Highest Ceiling Pick – Jayden Reed
Reed is the Packers’ second most popular receiver in 2023. He’s an absolute bargain on the DraftKings Monday night slate at just $4,000, making him the fifth most expensive receiver.
He’s caught 12 of his 25 targets, which might not seem great but he’s only dropped two passes. His low catch rate is because he’s been used as a deep threat. The total distance Reed’s targets have traveled through the air this season is 152 yards. The average per catch is 12.7 yards and that’s second to only Samori Toure, but he’s only caught four passes this season.
The Long, Long, Long Shot Pick – Zamir White
The Packers are fourth when it comes to the number of points conceded to running backs in DraftKings this season. This is obviously great news for Josh Jacobs, but it could also be good news for White. White has only had eight carries this season, but he’s averaging 4.9 yards per carry. If the Raiders are forced to start O’Connell again they should be using a run-heavy offense and if they want to keep Jacobs fresh they should definitely give White more opportunities. He’s only $4.700 on the DraftKings DFS slate too, making him the fourth most expensive running back.
