Teams around the league need a hero. They’re holding out for a hero ’til the end of the night. He’s got to be strong, and he’s got to be fast. Most importantly, he needs to be fresh from the fight. Here are the top five quarterback prospects in the 2024 draft to save their future NFL teams.
Top Quarterback Prospects 2024 NFL Draft
Caleb Williams, USC
Williams can throw with every arm angle and snatch the ankles of unblocked rushers. His biggest haters have nothing to say about his ability on the field, which is normally a sign that he’s pretty good. Many analysts think he’s the best quarterback prospect since Trevor Lawrence. Some are taking it even further and saying he’s the best since Andrew Luck. Either way, he’s the clear top dog with a bright future.
Player Comparison: Taller Kyler Murray (in a good way)
Jayden Daniels, LSU
Something clicked for Daniels in 2023. His film went from a player struggling to process the field to someone making confident, NFL level throws on a consistent basis. Throw in that he clearly packed on some weight and leveled up an already impressive rushing ability, Daniels is going to be a fan favorite in 2024.

Drake Maye, UNC
Maye is closer to Justin Herbert than Mitch Trubisky, but helmet scouts will still be nervous. He has a howitzer of an arm and can paint corners on every part of the field. If he continues on his trajectory, he can be a franchise cornerstone in no time. He was UNC’s second leading rusher in 2023 and is an underrated threat at the goal line. There’s a canyon between these top three prospects and the rest of the 2024 NFL Draft quarterback prospects.

Bo Nix, UO
Again, the gap between three and four is substantial. Nix has loads of experience (over 60 games played in college) which is a double edged sword. On one hand, he’s seasoned and will make the right play, at the right time, to the right receivers. On the other hand, he’s approximately 56 years old (24) and you have to ignore the Auburn film to feel good about him on your team. He won’t be the driving force behind a team succeeding, but he can be part of a solid roster and manage the game effectively.
Player Comparison: Fancy Kenny Pickett
J.J. McCarthy, UM
Winner. Two time Big Ten Champion. National Champion. One loss the last two seasons. The resume if wins are the only thing that matters for a quarterback is perfect. The issue lies in how Michigan won games. McCarthy wasn’t asked to do too much to elevate the team, but when he was called upon, he consistently delivered. The flashes of talent are there, and he’s still extremely young and moldable.

Michael Penix, UW
Medicals are spooky, but Penix can spin it. If he still had the mobility he had at Indiana, he’d be much more enticing.
Spencer Rattler, USC
There’s buzz that Rattler is a second or third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The arm talent and footwork is great, he just needs to process a touch faster.
