After three years in Los Angeles, Leonard Floyd signed a one-year contract to play for the Buffalo Bills in 2023. This signing proved to be a good match for both player and team, as Floyd finished the season with 10.5 sacks, 32 tackles, nine tackles-for-loss, and 19 quarterback hits.
Leonard Floyd originally entered the league as a first-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Selected by the Chicago Bears, the Georgia product made an immediate impact. Starting and appearing in 12 games, the rookie finished his inaugural season with seven sacks, 33 tackles, six tackles-for-loss, and nine quarterback hits.
The pass rusher maintained his starting role for the next three years, but he failed to recapture his rookie magic in Chicago. After four years with the Bears, Leonard Floyd signed a new contract with the Los Angeles Rams. The change of scenery made all the difference for Floyd, as his finished the season with 10.5 sacks, 55 tackles, 12 tackles-for-loss, and 19 quarterback hits.
Floyd proved that his 2020 wasn’t a one-year fluke in the following season. Starting and appearing in 17 games, the edge defender finished the season with 9.5 sacks, 70 tackles, seven tackles-for-loss, and 18 quarterback hits while helping the team win the Super Bowl.
Leonard Floyd remained productive during his final year with the Los Angeles Rams. Starting in all 17 games, the former first-round pick finished the season with nine sacks, 59 tackles, 10 tackles-for-loss, and 22 quarterback hits. Despite his strong play, the Rams suffered the dreaded Super Bowl hangover, missing the playoffs in a lost season.
Since signing his rookie contract, Leonard Floyd has recorded 58 sacks, 370 tackles, 63 tackles-for-loss, and 122 quarterback hits in 121 games.
