The Cleveland Browns are coming off of an impressive season where they went 11-6 and made another playoff appearance. A big strength was home games, where the Browns were 8-1. They were 3-5 on the road last season, and play an extra game away from Cleveland this season.
The season features home games for three straight weeks and a home opener against the Cowboys. With home games from week one to week 17, here are three important ones for the Browns if they want to play deep into January again.
Looking Ahead at Some of the Biggest Games Cleveland Will Host in 2024
Home Games Important Early vs. New York Giants
There is no doubt that week one against Dallas is a huge game to set the tone for the season. The NFC East is no joke, and even a struggling Giants team could make some noise. The Giants come to Cleveland in week three, looking to steal one from the orange and brown. The Giants were just 2-7 last year in a very underwhelming season. When looking at the Browns home games, this one is important as it’s their last game in front of the dawg pound for nearly a month. After the week three contest, they won’t host a game until week seven.

After winnable games in the first two weeks, the Giants matchup should be their easiest test to date. Holding one of the worst offenses in the league to minimal production would bode well for the offense to find its rhythm. The win would be a step in the right direction early on in the year.
Home Game vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Following two divisional matchups at home the weeks prior, the Browns welcome the Chargers in week nine. This is another opponent the Browns are not too familiar with and will be just as important as the rest of the home games. The Chargers also struggled on the road last season going 3-5. With a new head coach and an offense that will look completely different, it is a wildcard on if they will produce some upsets.
It’s been 162 days since we’ve seen Justin Herbert throw a touchdown, so here are all 20 of them from last season.

After this game, the Browns have a bye during week ten, followed by three road games in the next four weeks. Refining the offense and defense against an inferior opponent will be crucial to give the Browns confidence heading into another brutal stretch of the season.
Home Game vs. Miami Dolphins
In the second to last game of the season the Browns will welcome the Miami Dolphins. This is the only team from the AFC East that they will go up against. The matchup is sandwiched between two divisional road games. The Dolphins went 4-4 on the road last season, a respectable record but an underwhelming performance on the road in the playoffs. The last game of the 2024 year and second to last overall is one of the home games the Browns must perform in.
The game will likely hold major playoff implications for both teams and could potentially knock the loser out of contention. The fans will be loud and behind the team every snap, so the players will need to feed off of the energy and get the job done. A win here likely means the Browns handled business against their non-divisional home opponents.
