Top free agent center, Connor Williams is receiving interest from teams but could sign soon with a roster this summer. According to a report, the offensive lineman doesn’t look to return to the Miami Dolphins so he’ll be in a new uniform if he finds a new home. After missing about half of the 2023 season, Williams spent the past few months on the market and there hasn’t been any sign of him signing with a team soon. The Texas product is also speaking to several rosters after spending his NFL tenure with the Dallas Cowboys.
However, his production is winding down since after his injury last season, teams are hesitant to give him an opportunity. Williams will be ready for week one this upcoming season but time is winding down since training camp starts for all rosters next month. His most notable success was with the Cowboys after starting 10 games for them and putting Dallas back on the map with a playoff berth. He was a part of the formidable offensive line that the Cowboys were building but injuries were plaguing where the team moved on from him.
He returned to play for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, but Dallas gave him the chance to test the market. This is where he signed with the Dolphins but didn’t see much production. Miami is giving Aaron Brewer a chance to take over the starting position over Williams after giving him a massive deal. Williams is still taking time this offseason to stay healthy as he’s ensuring his rehab is progressing smoothly.
No one should count out the veteran as there’s no surprise that teams remain interested in him. He could still receive a lucrative deal if he stays healthy in the future.

Potential Destinations
Los Angeles Chargers
Williams has a lot of experience blocking for quality franchise quarterbacks in the league, Dak Prescott and Tua Tagovailoa. It could be a good upgrade for Justin Herbert who’s going to need all the time in the pocket to find an open man, Mike Williams and Keenan Allen’s departures are going to ruin this chemistry but Williams’ blocking abilities should give him additional time. If he can stay healthy, Jim Harbaugh can see a monster of a line that’s already going to improve after drafting Joe Alt.
Dallas Cowboys
America’s team probably won’t be in the market for a center after signing Cooper Beebe in this year’s draft. However, it doesn’t hurt for the team to bring him back on a one-year veteran contract for some insurance policy. Tyron Smith isn’t around and Zack Martin doesn’t plan to play beyond after this upcoming year. Dallas is losing all of their veterans so it would be wise for them to bring back at least Williams for one final run.
Carolina Panthers
The team is doing its duty to make Bryce Young’s job easier on the field. Diontae Johnson and Adam Thielen are great assets at the wideout position but they still have a weakness at the center position. The Panthers may have to get creative with their cap space but Williams should be a cost-effective option at this point of his career. Williams may return at guard if it becomes available but Bradley Bozeman is in Los Angeles so they need a solid replacement.
New Orleans Saints
Dennis Allen needs to get the stepping if he wants to give Derek Carr a chance to turn things around for this organization. There haven’t been any major moves for the Saints at the minimum of a low-cost move. Chris Olave is their only reliable top option at wide receiver but the offensive line isn’t helping. Carr isn’t going to improve his play if no one gives him some new weapons or pass protection.
