Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Odds for 2024 Postseason Awards

According to the betting odds, the Pittsburgh Steelers have a couple of contenders for 2024 postseason awards.

The Pittsburgh Steelers enter the 2024 season with expectations to build upon their up-and-down 2023 campaign. They made the playoffs last year despite fielding a dreadful offense for most of the season. With a new quarterback room and a rebuilt offensive line, their offense should be trending upwards. If they make any noise in 2024, it will likely be thanks to their standout defense, though. Looking at Steelers betting odds for various postseason awards, it’s clear the sportsbooks expect more from Pittsburgh’s defense than their offense.

Best Steelers Betting Odds for 2024 Postseason Awards

Defensive Player of the Year – T.J. Watt, +750

Through the first seven years of his already illustrious career, T.J. Watt’s name has become synonymous with the Defensive Player of the Year race. In four of the past five seasons, Watt has finished in the top 3 of DPOY voting. The only year he was absent from the race was 2022 when he only played in ten games due to injuries. Watt led the NFL in sacks in 2020, 2021, and 2023, including his all-time record-tying mark of 22.5 sacks in 2021.

Despite racking up an astounding four first-team All-Pro selections and six Pro Bowl nods in seven seasons, Watt has only brought home one DPOY award. With two more second-place finishes, he has come very close to winning the award multiple times. Entering the 2024 season, FanDuel gives Watt the third-best odds of bringing home the award at +750. He trails Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys (+500) and last year’s winner Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns (+600).

Defensive Rookie of the Year – Logan Wilson, +3500

Of all these Steelers betting odds, Logan Wilson to win Defensive Rookie of the Year is the most interesting case. On one hand, Wilson is an elite athlete at the linebacker position and can do just about anything on the field. On the other hand, Wilson will be playing in a stacked linebacker room, so he may not get enough playing time to rack up the necessary stats to win DROY. Wilson’s odds of +3500 land him in a tie for 12th-best odds, which feels right. Pittsburgh typically brings their rookies along slowly. But, if Wilson ends up seeing the field more than what’s currently expected, his odds will take off quickly.

Coach of the Year – Mike Tomlin, +2500

Despite having one Super Bowl ring, two AFC Championships, and no losing seasons under his belt in 17 seasons, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has never won the Coach of the Year award. In fact, he has never even come close. Tomlin has just one top-five finish for the award. Considering the odds, Tomlin isn’t expected to bring home the award this year. At +2500, Tomlin comes in around the middle of the pack for Coach of the Year odds. This award is a hard one to predict, though. How coaches deal with injuries and other forms of adversity during the season wins this award. So, the odds will change in a big way as the season progresses and Tomlin could find himself in the thick of the race.
