The Baltimore Ravens finished just one game short of a Super Bowl appearance last season. Baltimore lost to the thorn in everyone’s side, the Kansas City Chiefs. Kansas City won the AFC championship game by a score of 17-10- continuing their success, something every franchise looks to emulate. The Ravens plan on competing for a championship every year with quarterback Lamar Jackson, and now they have the roster around him to do so. This offseason, Baltimore retooled by re-signing almost every key player on the roster. These re-signings include Nelson Agholor, Justin Madubuike, Rashod Bateman, and Kyle Van Noy.
The last time the Ravens won a Super Bowl was in 2013. The Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers in Superbowl XLVII by a score of 34-31. Although there were many standout performers such as Ray Lewis and Anquan Boldin, the Super Bowl hero was undoubtedly wide receiver Jacoby Jones. Although just a complimentary piece to the team, his importance has not been understated. Jones’ Super Bowl performance was revered by Ravens fans, earning him a spot in Baltimore’s history. On July 14, 2024, Jacoby Jones passed away suddenly from hypertensive cardiovascular disease. Jones’ untimely passing shocked players and fans around the world. Jones helped Baltimore win their most recent Super Bowl and the Ravens will look to cement his legacy.
