The Kansas City Chiefs or Baltimore Ravens could target former Super Bowl playmaker, Tutu Atwell before this upcoming season in a trade. According to a report, even though the Rams are not looking to trade him, it doesn’t slow down the noise of the rumors of the possibility. Los Angeles may have good intentions to keep him around for one more year in his rookie contract but it might be wise to move on to put him on the trading block to get something in return. Atwell hasn’t been able to find his footing with the Rams offense to replicate Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp’s performance but he’s still a solid receiver for depth for any roster that needs one.
He hasn’t been able to be an integral weapon like them for the aerial attack so if the Rams change their mind then he could be a good potential trade. Atwell’s speed has been undeniably useful for the offense so it’s no secret why the Rams are keeping him around in case they want to give him a contract extension. It could become problematic for the Rams’ salary cap though since eventually they would need to extend Nacua and Kupp. However, he hasn’t been getting many chances so it might be wise for even him to move on to get a bigger spotlight.
The Chiefs are one team that needs a receiver since Marquise Brown is out with an injury and Atwell has a replication of his size so it works for both ends. However, the Ravens have two solid receivers in Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman but they need a long-term No. 3 receiver to help Nelson Agholor.

Other Potential Destinations
Carolina Panthers
Bryce Young had one of the worst rookie campaigns but the Panthers have been working this offseason to get a legit supporting cast for him. The team was able to trade for Diontae Johnson and draft Xavier Legette, meanwhile, Adam Thielen isn’t slowing down anytime soon even though he’s getting older. These players will help him to at least a playoff wild card but they could still use Atwell in the same room. Atwell would be useful for Thielen since he’ll probably be more of a slot receiver since Legette will focus on the deep threat.
Jonathan Mingo has been disappointing and Terrance Marshall will likely be in a new uniform midseason before the trade deadline so Atwell would make sense. He adds a proven option for the offense that’s lacking weapons behind what they already have in Thielen and Johnson. Atwell is a replica of Thielen but a smaller size which would benefit the pace of the offense.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers are desperate to get a proven playmaker after departing with Mike Williams and Keenan Allen. DJ Chark is not lasting on the roster for more than a year so realistically they need a receiver that can burst results now. Atwell isn’t the tallest or strongest but he adds speed and would be a reliable slot wideout while Ladd McConkey could focus on the deep threat. Quentin Johnston and Joshua Palmer don’t look like they’re going to do anything special so they might well trade for a receiver that has championship experience to help keep this offense moving.
Dallas Cowboys
The passing game is nothing without CeeDee Lamb this upcoming season so if he continues to sit out into the regular season then don’t expect this offense to do anything. Behind Lamb is only Brandin Cooks and plenty of wideouts that are unproven so it’s going to take years before this offense can get a pair of receivers that would help Dak Prescott. However, they could do a cheap trade to bring in Atwell to help Jalen Tolbert develop into a reliable slot playmaker for the next few years.
