The Los Angeles Chargers or Baltimore Ravens may trade for Dolphins trade candidate wide receiver, Erik Ezukanma before this regular season. A Bleacher Report article says the Dolphins can trade one of their wideouts because there’s plenty of competition at the position either with the emergence of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. It isn’t helping Ezukanma’s case after the Dolphins made some moves to improve the passing attack after signing Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year deal. The former fourth-rounder from the 2022 NFL Draft was hoping to get some development under Mike McDaniel but it hasn’t been faring him well since injuries have been derailing him.
It’s the same story for the wideout since he hasn’t been able to prove that he could be a reliable athlete for the team’s long-term success. However, the good news is that a source says they should put him on the trade block before his value diminishes. Ezukanma doesn’t get the snaps because there are already talented wideouts around and he can’t maintain a full season of staying healthy. His value in the environment that he’s in with the Dolphins could slowly see him without an NFL opportunity once his rookie contract runs out.
The Chargers need an answer now and Ezukanma may not give them immediate results but it provides a slant receiver to provide some upside in the passing game for Justin Herbert. No one should expect Quentin Johnston and Joshua Palmer to replace Mike Williams and Keenan Allen so it may make sense to rebuild the offense behind Ladd McConkey and Ezukanma. The Ravens could use some young talent to help Nelson Agholor in the slot since he’s only on a one-year contract but Ezukanma being at his age could last longer as a reliable slant wideout.

Other Potential Trade Destinations
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City offense looks weak if they continue to lose wideouts beyond Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice. It makes sense to bring in someone like Ezukanma to replace Kadarius Toney who is already on the roster bubble and help with some fresh insurance for Skyy Moore. These two may be better off developing some strong chemistry behind Mecole Hardman and Xavier Worthy who are still developing. It won’t happen overnight but the team can’t depend on Travis Kelce again if they want long-term success.
The Chiefs always find a way to make it happen again but the spark doesn’t always last.
Carolina Panthers
If Ezukanma wants some true development in his career and a reset then his best bet may be with the Panthers. Carolina has been working all offseason to get a legitimate supporting cast for second-year quarterback Bryce Young. There’s a lot of upside to looking forward to knowing that they were able to trade for Diontae Johnson and drafting Xavier Legette. However, Adam Thielen is getting older so they eventually have to start thinking about life after him.
It probably won’t be soon since the Panthers are still rebuilding but it shouldn’t surprise if Thielen is in a new uniform before he retires. Ezukanma could be brought in now as young insurance to kick the tires to give Dave Canales’s offense some rare speed.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles now have a super team in their position led by Jalen Hurts. There shouldn’t be any excuse for him for this season since they have been able to get a legit WR3 after trading for Jahan Dotson to help DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown. However, they have to think about how long they want to keep Devante Parker around and if it’s safe to get a younger wideout like Ezukanma to develop in the long term.
