The Jaguars vs Colts Week 5 AFC South clash features two of the more interested teams in the league. Indianapolis sophomore quarterback Anthony Richardson has struggled to establish himself as a consistent passer through the beginning of the season. While their rushing attack, led by Pro-Bowler Jonathan Taylor, is strong, their passing game is a roller coaster.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars have been one of the league’s most disappointing franchises. Despite having a solid quarterback in former #1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville is the NFL’s last remaining team without a win.

Jaguars vs Colts Prediction
Jags 17, Colts 21
The Colts face a clear level of uncertainty due to injury concerns. Both of their dual-headed rushing attack, Richardson (oblique) and Taylor (ankle) are listed as questionable. While losing either would drastically affect this games outcome, veteran Joe Flacco provided stability to the offense last week.
If either Richardson or Taylor can play, the rushing attack will remain dangerous. If Richardson misses, the combo of Flacco and Taylor will bring an unusual well-roundedness to Indy’s offense. Fifth-year running back Trey Sermon would likely handle lead back duties in a pass-heavy offense if Taylor were to be ruled out.
The Jags are dealing with their fair share of offensive injuries, lead rusher Travis Etienne Jr. and tight end Evan Ingram are both listed as questionable. However, Jacksonville has been a complete mess this season, even at their healthiest point.
On top of that, Jags head coach Doug Pederson appears to be frustrated and on super thin ice. Jacksonville will eventually find a way to turn things around under Lawrence. But it highly questionable whether the franchise gets back on track this week.
Expect Indy to end their nine-year loosing streak when matching up with the Jaguars in Jacksonville.
Jaguars vs Colts Best Bets
Jonathan Taylor First Touchdown Scored (+450)
Be sure to check the injury report before locking in this bet. If Taylor plays, he is the safest option to find the end zone. Richardson’s potential absence may actually open up more goal line carries than normal. But either way, the Colts offense begins and ends with thier star running back’s ability to produce.
Taylor has already posted four rushing touchdowns in as many contests. He is a solid bet to hit pay dirt again this week.
Evan Ingram 1st Half Touchdown Scored (+500)
Again, be sure to check the injury report here. Last season, Ingram’s 114 receptions became the second most a tight end has ever recorded in a single season. He was also projected for big production in 2024.
So far this year, he has been limited to one game, one reception, and five total receiving yards through four weeks.
Ingram and Lawrence have good chemistry and a sky high ceiling. If Ingram has recovered from his hamstring injury, expect Lawrence to use his red zone weapon early and often as the Jaguars offense attempts to find their footing.
