The New York Jets are officially granting pass rusher, Haason Reddick a trade this season and the Ravens, Chiefs are among the best possible fits. According to multiple sources, the Jets are having a busy Tuesday after putting Reddick in a “short window” to seek a new home this year. This comes after the pass rusher hired new agents, including Drew Rosenhaus after dumping his last representative to help him find the best contract available.

Reddick has been the subject of trade rumors since arriving in New York. Originally, he wanted to get out of Philadelphia since they weren’t giving him the deal he granted. The veteran continues to face the same issues which is why he’s been holding out. The Jets didn’t grant a trade with Reddick’s old agent but his new representative is making things possible now.

Reddick will have to act quickly to find a new team before week 13 since he will forfeit all earnings for the 2024 campaign. It shouldn’t take long before he finds a new roster that needs a new pass rusher. The Temple product is still one of the most high-profile defense players in the league, recording 58 sacks, five fumble recoveries, 19 pass deflections and 410 total tackles. Here is where the Jets could deal Haason Reddick in a trade.

Possible Trade Destinations

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens reeled in four straight wins after losing two games in a row. They have one of the most ferocious offenses in the league but they’re still lacking in the defensive department. Since losing Jadeveon Clowney and Patrick Queen, the Ravens didn’t do anything to replace them. Baltimore is still a high-caliber team and has been dependent on guys like David Ojabo and Odafe Oweh.

The Ravens can’t afford to get complacent since the defense is getting younger. Kyle Van Noy, Justin Madubuike and Roquan Smith lead the pack but you can never have enough talent on one defense. Reddick’s presence would be a nice acquisition for a team having Super Bowl aspirations. He doesn’t need to do much as a full-time starter but one to give opposing quarterbacks a hard time in the pocket.

Kansas City Chiefs

This landing spot is a no-brainer for both sides. Patrick Mahomes is still one of the best quarterbacks despite some inconsistencies. However, the Chiefs just have 1.8 sacks per game which is the fourth-fewest in the league. George Karlaftis continues to struggle so they brought in Mike Danna to help reduce his role but Reddick’s presence should help the pass rusher become great again. Reddick would be another heavy-hitting weapon for Steven Spagnuolo’s defense to keep this team balanced alongside star Chris Jones.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers were hoping Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa could apply pressure but the defense is struggling after having just 4.5 sacks together through five games. Jim Harbaugh believes in winning in the trenches which means having an old-school style defense that can get after the quarterback. They’ve been failing to do so but they could kick the tires on someone like Reddick. Los Angeles must understand if they want to dethrone Kansas City, they should have a hard-hitting physical defense and Reddick could be one of those pieces to do just that.

Detroit Lions

Aidan Hutchinson isn’t coming back this year after a gruesome injury. It’s already worse since the Lions lost Marcus Davenport so they may snag someone like Reddick to help on their quest for a Super Bowl. Detroit must find someone to replace Hutchinson’s production which may force their hand to trade for Reddick. The Lions are lacking depth in their pass-rushing unit so this is probably their last resort.

Cincinnati Bengals

No one should count out the Bengals despite them sitting at 2-4. The Bengals are keeping their season alive so they should trade for someone like Reddick to help alongside Trey Hendrickson. If Cincinnati doesn’t re-sign Tee Higgins next offseason, they could use that money on Reddick.
