With the Philadelphia Eagles on a roll these past few weeks, the list of potential Eagles trade targets has become clear. The Eagles have found value in some young players across the roster. However, veteran leadership and experience cannot be understated for a team vying for a championship.
The NFL trade market is rarely ever thrilling, and there is little chance that the Eagles will be involved in a blockbuster move on Tuesday. However, some good veterans may be available to help round out the kinks in the Eagles roster.
Last-Minute Philadelphia Eagles Trade Targets
Mike Williams
The New York Jets receiver has had a rough time in his eighth year in the NFL. However, he is a big-bodied receiver who could provide depth and possibly share snaps with Jahan Dotson for the third receiver role. With A.J. Brown dealing with a seemingly re-occurring knee injury, Williams could be the sizeable receiver the Eagles need in spells.
So far, rookie receivers Johnny Wilson and Ainias Smith have not been able to make an impact. Adding another receiver along with Dotson would round out a reliable receiving corps for the Eagles. To boot, Williams would likely only cost a mid-late day three draft pick.
Chase Young
The Eagles can never have enough pass rushers. Chase Young has been a bit disappointing in his last few stops with the San Fransisco 49ers and now, with the New Orleans Saints. He has two sacks this season and four tackles for loss.
He could be an Eagles trade target as another depth piece to add to the rotation of pass rushers they already have. With Bryce Huff not living up to his deal, Young could be an improvement as a third or fourth pass rusher that could help keep everyone fresh. Although the price tag for Young is unclear, he is an interesting name to watch out for.
Calais Campbell
The most accomplished player on this Eagles trade targets list, Calais Campbell would be an awesome addition. The NFL legend has been serviceable in his 17th season with the Miami Dolphins. He not only has experience and leadership, but he also has experience with Vic Fangio’s defense last year.
Campbell could provide the Eagles with inside-out versatility as the defensive end in a four-man front, and an inside rusher in a five-man front. Moreover, he would surely be able to impact the development of the many young Eagles defensive linemen. He would be a valuable addition to a young and inexperienced Eagles defense.
Other Possible Eagles Trade Targets
The Eagles must look for another receiver that could round out their receiving corps, with Brown’s injury concerns. Preferably, the Eagles could get a good deal on a veteran receiver for the rest of the year. Kendrick Bourne with the New England Patriots would be another interesting addition.
However, the Eagles can never be counted out of adding pieces to their defensive front. The front has played better in recent weeks, but they have not been as dominant as fans are used to. Names like Arden Key, Jadeveon Clowney, and even Azeez Ojulari could be in the mix.
