The field of 68 is now already been shortened to the Sweet 16 teams for the 2023 NCAA tourney and we’re ready to discuss what happened on Sunday and look ahead to later this week on the newest “College Basketball Coast to Coast.”
Host T.J. Rives returns with Matt Zemek analyst/editor of USA Today’s Trojanswire.com website and a great national historian of the sport and also, Deshaun Tate, who covered the games in Columbus, Ohio Sunday seeing Michigan State and Florida Atlantic advance. And, it’s time to talk “Sweet 16”
The guys give their opinions on other Sunday winning teams like Gonzaga who was victorious of TCU, UConn who looked great for a second straight game beating St. Mary’s, Crieghton hit all the big shots and free throws to down Baylor, Kansas State rallied to knock off “blueblood” Kentucky and Miami scored another impressive win by beating Indiaa, as well.
There are 11 conferences represented in the final 16 teams, which only reinforces how deep the talent pool is across the country in college basketball.
Then, attention turns to the matchups and some things to watch later this week, when the action starts back up on Thursday and Friday in New York, Louisville, Kansas City and Las Vegas.
What will happen with top seeded Alabama taking on San Diego State, also #1 seed Houston playing those Miami Hurricanes and how will two seeds UCLA and Texas seem to fare this weekend?
