Preview: WrestleMania 34 Kickoff Show

From Bourbon Street to the Mercedes Benz Superdome, WrestleMania returns to the NOLA to a super card of epic proportions. WrestleMania 34, returning to New Orleans with so many different matches that on paper seems to give the crowd a night to remember. With the three pre show matches, WrestleMania have a total of 13 confirmed matches (not including a potential Cena/Taker match) and each match is going to bring out the best of the Superstars involved. However, the pre-show this year is probably one of the most stacked in recent memory and it is looking to be very entertaining and ready to show that each of these matches are worthy of being a part of the main card.

Over the years, this match has proven to be one of those gems in which gives an up-incoming superstar a chance to prove their worth in this battle royal. The Andre the Giant Battle Royal is returning back to where it all started, as the inaugural match took place in New Orleans with Cesaro last eliminating Big Show to take the crown. Although there’s not many names confirmed on the list, this match is perfect to bring up an NXT talent to win the match, or a rising star to showcase their skills. A perfect superstar to do so with is the man, Andrade Almas. It is inevitable that he will move to the main roster after Takeover: NOLA and it would make the most sense to push him as the next guy to take over (pun intended) as WWE biggest international star. Alongside, Zalina Vega (aka Thea Trinidad or Rosita) this duo could do some good work as members of the main roster

Winner: Andrade “Cien” Almas

Despite the controversy of the original name sake (i.e. The Fabulous Moolah Battle Royal), this match is intriguing. There are many options that you could throw in there as winners. While the storylines of Bayley and Sasha Banks are one of the more prominent entering in the match, there’s the possible NXT prospects that could win – for example, the likes of Ember Moon, Nikki Cross, Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Lacey Evans, Dakota Kai, Kairi Sane and Bianca BelAir or the factions of The Riott Squad and Absolution running amok in their respected brands. There are plenty of options for potential winners for this particular match. Like “The Andre,” this match should be a stepping stone to reward an up incoming talent to win the match and a solid option that would be perfect for the win is Ruby Riott. Riott, after her solid performance against Charlotte Flair at Fastlane, showcased that when needed, she is dependable not only as an in-ring performer, but on the microphone as well. Out of the late fall call-ups, Ruby has the most potential and can very well be a champion, if given the chance to shine.

Winner: Ruby Riott

Cruiserweight Championship Finals: Cedric Alexander vs. Mustafa Ali

Dubbed as the “Heart and Soul” of 205 Live, both Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali managed to climb their respected side’s bracket to get to this point. Both men are immensely talented, skillful and can do things in the ring that would make a normal man feel inadequate. As 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick stated, this match has a chance to steal the show giving the fans a reason to talk about 205 Live in the upcoming weeks post-WrestleMania. For the match itself, this match is tailor made for Cedric Alexander to have his crowning achievement. Cedric since the fall of 2017 has been chasing the Cruiserweight title since Enzo was holding the championship. Since Enzo’s firing, it seemed that Alexander was going to take the championship from Amore but it didn’t happen. As talented as Mustafa Ali is, Alexander has been chasing this title for such a long time, it makes the most sense in a storyline perspective for Cedric to finally get his moment in the sun as he wins the Cruiserweight Championship.

Winner: Cedric Alexander
