Following a slew of allegations dating back years in the current #SpeakingOut movement, IMPACT Wrestling has officially handed down verdicts on three of the names mentioned, stating in a press release to multiple publications that “IMPACT Wrestling confirms that it has terminated its contracts with Dave Crist and Joey Ryan, effective immediately. In addition, it has suspended Michael Elgin pending further review of allegations of misconduct.”
Joey Ryan had just returned to IMPACT last October after making himself one of the top draws in the US indies, but a barrage of allegations stemming back years led to Ryan leaving Twitter and shutting down his indie promotion, Bar Wrestling. Dave Crist also faced multiple accusations from dozens of women’s wrestlers and trainees, leading to Ohio’s Rockstar Pro to revoke the alliance with Crist’s OI4K Wrestling Academy. Michael Elgin had been accused of inappropriate conduct in messaging, with some allegations more recent than his other last controversy, but his case is still under investigation (UPDATE Michael Elgin will no longer appear on IMPACT programming).
