Preview: AEW Dark(9/04/21) – Prelude to All Out 2021

Prelude to All Out Dark Special: Skye Blue vs Red Velvet

On quite short notice, All Elite Wrestling presents a special Saturday edition of AEW DARK on September 4th. Acting as a small prelude to their PPV Event All Out 2021, the show will feature quite a few members of the Women’s Casino Battle Royal including Red Velvet, Julia Hart, Hikaru Shida, and more. It will also include a special appearance by the Best In The World CM Punk, though he will obviously not be competing in any capacity until All Out on Sunday.

AEW Dark Card (9/04/21): Prelude to All Out 2021!

  • Missa Kate vs Hikaru Shida
  • Jade Cargill (w/ Smark Mark Sterling) vs Blair Onyx

Wheeler Yuta Looking For a Win

Over the past three months, Wheeler Yuta has become a reoccurring member of the AEW roster and has become best known for his close association with the Best Friends. With the recent feud between Best Friends & the Hardy Family Office ramping up going into All Out, Yuta is looking for what would only be his second singles victory in AEW against Baron Black on this episode of AEW Dark. While a win here would do very little about moving him higher up the totem pole in general in AEW, it would give him a good boost of momentum before the 5-on-5 battle he will be a part of at All Out.

Will Red Velvet vs Skye Blue Steal the Show?

In one of the most anticipated matchups on this edition of AEW DARK, Red Velvet continues her uphill battles against hometown favorites when she takes on Chicago’s own Skye Blue in singles competition. Blue, who has yet to pick up a win in AEW, has cut her teeth in many independent companies across the country, most notably in the Chicagoland area. While on paper this may look like a simple tune-up for Red Velvet, a good performance here for Skye Blue could mean a lot for the young wrestler. As we all know, a hometown crowd can truly be a difference-maker in professional wrestling—and there aren’t many better hometown crowds than Chicago, Illinois.

CM Punk to Send the Chicago Crowd Home Happy

While it isn’t confirmed what the extent of CM Punk’s presence on AEW DARK will be, the Second City Savior will once again be greeted by a thunderous Chicago crowd when Cult of Personality hits. This will also be the final time we will see him before his official return to in-ring competition on Sunday, so what will he have to say on the eve of such a landmark event? Tune in to find out!
