#AndNEW: Stardom Dream Queendom Sees Titles Change Hands

Stardom Dream Queendom - Utami Hayashishita vs Syuri

Stardom Dream Queendom promised to be a massive night for Stardom as the company made its return to the famous Sumo Hall venue.  The event fulfilled its promise as three championships changed hands on the show, including Stardom’s two top championships.

Stardom Dream Queendom News: Hanan, Saya Kamitani & Syuri Win Titles

Hanan Wins Future of Stardom Championship

In the opening match of the show STARS’ Hanan captured the first title of her career as she beat Oedo Tai’s Ruaka. These two young women represent the future of Stardom having been trained by the promotion from the time they were young teens, they are now both on the verge of making the leap to being fully-fledged members of the roster and fulfilling their potential. With Hanan’s win, she will get a chance to showcase her talent in singles matches for months to come.

Saya Kamitani Wins Wonder of Stardom Championship

Saya Kamitani capped off her quick rise to glory by capturing the Wonder of Stardom Championship just over 2 years after her debut.  The high-flying Kamitani has been on the precipice of greatness all year from her stellar world title challenge at the Nippon Budokan to her Cinderella Tournament win. Closing out the year by winning the title at Sumo Hall and utilizing her Phoneix Splash in the process is the perfect stamp on what will be looked at as a banner year for Stardom’s “Golden Phoenix”.

Syuri Wins World of Stardom Championship

Just a few short months ago Syuri came agonizingly close to winning the title from Utami Hayashishita.  The Joshi veteran took the world champion to the limit in a draw that lasted over 40 minutes and gained widespread acclaim as one of the best women’s matches in some time. After winning the 5STAR Grand Prix, Syuri set her sites firmly on dethroning Hayashishita to end the year with three titles around her waist.  After 36 minutes of punishment, Syuri finally broke the deadlock between Hayashishita and herself, ending Hayashishita’s reign and standing tall atop Stardom as its world champion to close out the show at Sumo Hall.

During the show, it was announced that Stardom will be returning to Sumo Hall in March for back-to-back events known as the Stardom World Climax.  Forever looking forward, Stardom no doubt has some big matches in store for their return to this iconic venue.
