The Wingmen (Cezar Bononi, JD Drake, Peter Avalon, and Ryan Nemeth) look to pick up a much-needed win in eight-man tag-team action. They will be facing off with the returning Sotheara Chhun (better known as “Classic” Cody Chhun) and the debuting Karam, Caleb Teninty, and former IMPACT X-Division Champion Rohit Raju.
Now, as I’ve stated before, momentum is a big X-factor in any match-up, and right now, The Wingmen have none. Since coming together in May of last year, the unit has struggled to pick up a win. In fact, their first and so far only win since officially joining together was in June of last year. Still, one edge they do have over their opponents is the time they’ve spent working together, and that chemistry built up cannot be overlooked.
Looking at the other team, though, it’s tough to pick The Wingmen in this match-up. As I stated, Rohit is a former X-Division Champion, a title held by some of the best this industry has seen. Not to mention this is his first match in AEW, and I’m sure he’s motivated to get the win and show he deserves to be All Elite.
Another reason it’s hard to pick The Wingmen is the returning Sotheara Chhun. Anyone who has kept up with Chhun on the independents will know he’s fresh off of challenging Jonathan Gresham for the ROH World Title. He also captured the Prestige Tag Team Titles with Guillermo Rosas.
I expect this to be a great match, but I do see Rohit, Chhun, Teninty, and Karam walking away with the victory and maybe a few of them will be “All Elite” soon after.
