Preview: NWA Powerrr (3/22/22) – Crockett Cup 2022 Fallout

NWA Powerrr Crockett Cup 2022 Fallout

On this week’s NWA Powerrr, fans of the National Wrestling Alliance will see the fallout from this past weekend’s Crockett Cup 2022 event. From title changes to the crowning of this year’s Crockett Cup winners to a main event with a controversial conclusion, there’s much to be followed up on this week. We may not receive all the answers on this week’s show, but it’s fair to assume that certain details will be clarified and action will unfold. Here’s what to expect before this season 8 premiere episode airs live tonight at 6:05 PM EST.

NWA Powerrr (3/22/22) Full Card

  • The Briscoe Brothers (Jay and Mark Briscoe) vs. The OGK (Mike Bennett and Matt Taven)
  • The Hex (Allysin Kay and Marti Belle) vs. Jennacide and Paola Blaze – If Jennacide and Blaze Lose, They Must Split for Good
  • NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship: Homicide (c) vs. Austin Aries

The Crockett Cup Winners in Action on NWA Powerrr

The Crockett Cup 2022 winners will be in action on this week’s NWA Powerrr, as The Briscoe Brothers take on The OGK, the team of Mike Bennett and Matt Taven. Jay and Mark Briscoe put on an incredible performance throughout the tournament, last besting Harry Smith and Doug William in the finals to win the cup and historic trophy. This puts The Briscoes in an elite class of only five tag teams that have won the Crockett Cup. On this week’s NWA Powerrr, The Briscoes square off against The OGK, who fell in the first round to The Fixers, who they’ve been at odds with on NWA programming. Watch this tag team contest unfold tonight on FITE.

Will They Stay or Will They Go?

Another team that had a solid outing this past weekend was The Hex, the reigning NWA World Women’s Tag Team Champions. Allysin Kay and Marti Belle put forth a strong performance against the team of Kenzie Paige and Ella Envy, retaining their titles in the process. Only a few days removed from this successful title defense, The Hex will be in action against Jennacide and Paola Blaze. However, this match has an interesting caveat; if Jennacide and Blaze lose, they must split for good. It should come as no surprise to longtime NWA viewers that Jennacide and Blaze have had their issues as of late; it’s possible that this match is where the proverbial rubber finally meets the road.

Homicide Makes His First NWA Junior Heavyweight Title Defense

This past weekend, “The Notorious 187” made history when Homicide captured the revived NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship. This victory didn’t come easy, as he had to overcome three other competitors in four-way action to do so. On this week’s edition of NWA Powerrr, he competes one of those men, Austin Aries, putting the gold on the line for the very first time. To call Homicide and Aries in-ring veterans would be an understatement. They’ve achieved success in most organizations they’ve worked in, including Ring of Honor and IMPACT Wrestling. This upcoming title match will be nothing short of a culmination of their collective experience and it all goes down on this week’s NWA Powerrr.
